Pattern #TV491
1893 Blouse
Waist
This is a basic gathered Blouse Waist, which was
popular in 1893. It has a gathered front and back, with a fitted lining.
The center front is cut on the straight of grain, for use with plaids
and stripes. The sleeve is the Balloon Sleeve, popular in 1893-94, and
has a fitted lining. The Jabot is removable. The gathered blouse waist
style was popular from the 1880s, and with a different sleeve, can
easily be adapted to the late bustle era. Or, left sleeveless, it can be
used effectively as a "vest" for wear under jackets for an
1880-1900 look. Multi-sized 30-50" bust included in pattern. Approximate
yardage
required for 45" wide fabric 3 3/4 yards.

1896 Ripple Bodice
This is a very stylish, fitted jacket with a very wide notched
lapel, and a flared hip. It can have one of two different
closures, either 3 bands or a faux vest to hold it close to the
figure. The band fits onto buttons on the front of the jacket,
while the faux vest would have the buttons fitting button holes
on the jacket. The main body is in four pieces for a good fit:
Back, Side Back, and Front. The front is fitted with a single
dart. The moderate sleeve is in two pieces, fitted to the elbow
and with a full sleeve head. A contrasting lining fabric is
visible at the lapel and hip ripples.
With the sleeve as given, this style is suitable for
1893-1898. By changing to the larger sleeves of pattern TV495,
this jacket can also be perfect for 1894-1896. This is the
perfect companion jacket to skirt TV296 - 1896 Ripple Skirt. For
a dressy evening or summer style, make up the jacket without
sleeves (like a vest), and wear with a short sleeved blouse.
Multi-sized 30-50" bust included in pattern. Approximate yardage
required for 45" wide fabric is 3 yards.

Pattern #TV104 Late Victorian Collars and Cuffs
This pattern has an assortment of chemisettes
and cuffs, suitable for the 1870's. Collars I and J are suitable for the
1880s and 1890s. These chemisettes are perfect for filling in a low cut
diner bodice, making it more suitable for day wear. Or they can add
interest to a more conservative neckline. The cuffs can fill out wide
sleeves, or give a nice finish to a narrow sleeve.
There are two full chemisette styles, high neck and V-neck. Both
have center front button closure, and have ties at the waist line to hold
it in place. The high neck version has 5 collar styles, and the V-neck has
3 collars.
There are 3 styles of under-sleeves with a variety of 5 cuffs. The
first has a full gathered under-sleeve. Another is a fitted under-sleeve
style. These two are great for filling in a wide sleeve. The last is a
double cuff, or reversible cuff, that can be worn with a narrow sleeve. It
has no under-sleeve, but has two styles of cuffs attached back-to-back at
the wrist, either cuff being viewable as desired. Multi-sized Small to
X-Large included in pattern.
