Pants Men & Women’s
Mid to Late 19th Century -1850 - 1900
Civilian Style Pants. One women's and three men's fits. Large, clear
illustrations with simplified directions.Intermediate
skill level.Bibliography
& historical notes. The front has vertical front pockets, a button
fly, and suspender buttons. The back can have two welt pockets or none
at all, a back cinch belt and a split back waistband with suspender
buttons. The hems at the bottom of the legs are shorter at the center
front than the center back and have a very slight flare. Fiber: Cotton,
wool, or linen for period correct Fabric: Any medium (bottom) weight
fabric, twill, cavalry, duck, jean, denim; Worsted wool, including plain
weave, gabardine, serge, tropical, kersey, cassimere (twill weave
worsted suiting pattern, aka "serge with stripes") Pattern:
Striped, herringbone, checked, plaid, plain. Lining: Striped cotton or
cotton/poly blend. Facing: Brown chintz or cotton, or dark matching
cotton.
Men's sizes 28 - 60 and Women's sizes 4-26 all included in the
pattern.
